Veronica Madonna, prominently highlighted in the Daily Commercial News, emphasizes the efficacy of utilizing prefabricated mass timber for future workforce housing in northern Ontario mines through a detailed feasibility study.

The study, aptly titled "Benefits of Mass Timber Workforce Communities," underscores numerous merits, particularly regarding climate mitigation and enhancing health and wellness, as compared to conventional camp housing, as per Veronica Madonna, an associate at Studio VMA Inc. This investigation was executed in collaboration with mass timber manufacturer Element5, among other partners.

Endorsed by both the Thunder Bay Community Economic Development Commission and the Centre for Research and Innovation in the Bio-Economy, the research elucidates that mass timber housing not only exhibits durability but also offers the flexibility of being effortlessly relocated to new sites, as Madonna elucidated to an assembly at the Mass Timber Seminar conference recently conducted at George Brown College’s waterfront campus in Toronto.
